Carrfields Grain & Seed is the exclusive New Zealand distributor of Pacific Seeds, specialists in the breeding, production and development of a wide range of seed types. Pacific Seeds focus is on the breeding, development and marketing of hybrid seeds of sunflower, grain sorghum, forage sorghum, pennisetums, maize, canola, wheat and fodder beet. The Exclusive Grain Group is a program administered by Canterbury Seed in conjunction with UK wheat breeder John Blackman (Blackman Agriculture Ltd) to develop wheat and some barley cultivars specifically bred, selected and trialed for New Zealand growing conditions. The variety that was used for the world record attempt was 776, bred by Blackman Agriculture. Find out more here.
